Join the Tech Revolution

An industry-integrated degree in software engineering you can complete in <3 years. Or a graduate or undergraduate certificate in computer science you can complete in 16-32 weeks.

Being a software engineer is challenging, interesting, well paid, and in high demand. There are hundreds of thousands of unfilled software jobs and the role is predicted to grow at 6x the rate of other job roles for the next 5 years. And software is not just software. You can write code for schools, hospitals, banks, construction sites, government, non-profits, art—anything you can imagine. The Elton Computer Science program was developed by our president Adam Braus, who has over a decade of experience designing and leading coding schools and colleges. He has trained dozens of professors and hundreds of students for success. Continue scrolling to learn what makes Elton's program more accessible and more successful than all the rest.
Certificate Bootcamp in Computer Science
12-36 weeks (700 hours)

Come work 1-on-1 with professional software engineer instructors in Elton's entirely personalized, fully-accredited certificate bootcamp in computer science. Our instructors teach while working at major tech companies including Google, PayPal, IBM, Microsoft, and more. Whether you have years of preparation and want a capstone in interview prep and negotiation or you've never written a line of code, Elton's bootcamp is entirely personalized to your skill level, pace, and interests. You can work part time, or at an accelerated pace through our learning. You can specialize in any of the CS concentrations, or be a generalist. Every graduate receives career support and is part of the alumni network for life.

Other bootcamps are a cattle call where curriculum is not tailored to students' interests, pace, and values. Elton offers what no other bootcamp can—professional coaching and 1-on-1 tutoring along with a vibrant community of learners, instructors, and a valuable network of alumni.

Bachelor's in Computer Science
2-4 years (4200 hours)

Elton College's computer science program has the rigour, depth, and professional development of a big university, with the personal committment and community of a small liberal arts school. Start your bachelor's or finish it at Elton. The program has a generous transfer policy for credits you've already earned in IT, software engineering, and computer science. Elton reduces student's risk by having "stacking credentials" which means, a student can withdraw at any time and still be awarded a certificate, a diploma, a higher diploma, or bachelor's in computer science.

Our program has fully integrated career services. From day one, students are doing wayfinding with their professional coach about their career and professional goals. They are exploring various sorts of engineering and tech jobs while building job-ready professional and technical skills. Acing a technical interview and negotiating your first salary are key skills all students will master. Students are encouraged to "earn while they learn" by getting internships or full time jobs as soon as possible. Elton can and does award credit for assignments aligned with learning outcomes that students complete on the job.

YOU CAN DO IT

From Zero to Hero

You might feel like you can't become a software engineer unless you are a math wizard or a techno geek. This could not be further from the truth. Being a successful engineer only requires a grasp of middle school math, and anyone with the desire to pursue a career in software can do it. All it takes is the right teachers and school and diligent concentration.

INDUSTRY-EXPERT PROFESSORS

Our Professors are Battle-Tested

Our professors together have decades of industry experience and a dense and valuable professional network into startups and FANG companies. Contrast that with other CS programs where your professors will have PhD's but little or no experience in industry and only an academic network.

FUN & COLLABORATIVE

Code Together, Play Together

There is no "I" in team, and nowhere is that more true than in software. All software is built together on teams. Elton is built to band students together into agile huddles, conferences, parties, contracting teams, technical concentrations, and study groups. Request More Information

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING

Build Real Projects From Day One

Other computer science programs focus on lectures, dry theory, textbooks, and tests. Not Elton. Long ago at Elton we learned that people learn faster and better if they build real software for real people. Everyone starts off building step-by-step tutorials, then contractor projects, and then portfolio projects and internship projects.

A DEGREE IS NOT ENOUGH

A Portfolio & Technical Interviewing

Your degree helps you to succeed in tech, but it is not enough. At Elton you will receive support and coaching to build a digital portfolio of software. In addition, you will receive hundreds of hours of coaching and drilling in technical interviewing — probably the most difficult and important part of getting a job as a software engineer.

INTERNSHIPS & CAREER READINESS

Start Working Even Before You Finish

Our students are ready for their first job in tech after as few as 6 months. The Elton CS program is designed so you can continue to study while working full time. That means you can earn while you learn and earn credit for what you learn on the job.

👨💻👩💻 Computer Science & Software Engineering
Half of your credits are in computer science. This means collaborating on building projects, and learning the teamwork and soft skills that all engineers need to know to succeed. Elton students start as Generalists but can declare one of six general concentrations — Front End Engineer, Back End Engineer, Mobile Engineer, Data Scients, Crypto & Cyber Security.
🔬📚 Science & Letters
Students are encouraged to spend roughly 1/4 of their time learning about things apart from coding and tech. This could mean reading books, learning about religions or ancient cultures, developmental psychology, theoretical physics, how to build a business, how to paint, or a foreign language. The sky is the limit.
👏 Career Readiness & Technical Interviewing
Because of the challenges of technical interviewing, the Elton program recommends focusing a full quarter of your credits on computer science theory and technical interviewing. In addition, you will receive support to develop an industry network and a job-ready portfolio and resume.

Software Engineering Areas of Concentration

Everyone in the BCS program is working towards a Bachelor's in Computer Science, but students can declare one of Elton University's six concentrations—Generalist, Front End Engineer, Back End Engineer, Mobile Engineer, Data Science, Crypto & Cyber Security. These concentrations span most work you can do as a software engineer.
